Starting School:
If your child was born between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020, they will be due to start school in a reception class in September 2024.
If your child is due to start school in a reception class in September 2024, you will need to apply for their school place online before 15 January 2024.
You must apply for a reception class place even if your child currently goes to a nursery class at a school. Going to a nursery attached to a school does not increase your chances of getting a reception class place at that school.
If you want your child to start later, you still need to apply for a reception class place at the same time as everyone else.
Answer questions about your child and your feelings about them starting school to be given results including the most useful for your family.
Starting school is a big milestone for children. They are probably ready for this next step and will enjoy the learning and the new experiences being at school will offer. However, it’s normal for parents to feel anxious.
